2018 Uglybustards Underway with Unfurling of Flag

yes all youse Uglybustards the 2018 season is well and truly underway as we're 5 rounds down and its already a tipsters nightmare!!!  This week we see the presentation of the 2017 Uglybustards Cup to last year's winner Griggsy, who will be doing a lap of honour at the Round 6 Geelong Vs Sydney game at Kardinia Park this Saturday 28th April at 1:45pm.  Be sure to tune in so you don't miss it.

Welcome back all you utter utter bustards for the 17th Uglybustards AFL Footy Tipping Comp and a big welcome to the new tipsters who really don't know what they're letting themselves in for.

But first, the unveiling of the cup for the 2015 Champ Sam Griggs who potted his 2nd trophy in 3 years, he is becoming the "Hawthorn" tipster of Uglybustards. Who will knock him off this year?

Playing Your Joker

It's become apparent that not all Uglybustards tipsters realise that we can play a Joker 5 weeks a season.

It got me wondering if everyone realises all the prizes are attached to the "Sam Griggs Joker Ladder".

The Joker Ladder was launched in February 2014 to bring endless excitement to a BIGGER BOLDER BETTER Uglybustards tipping season due to Sam Griggs streeting the field after 6 rounds in 2013.

So just to make it very clear to one and all, I've put together some instructions on how to play your joker when you put your tips in on www.footytips.com.au.

Paltry Prize Pool Jeopardises Jackpot

For the first time in Uglybustards history we may not have a jackpot. More on that later, along with a callout to Tax Dodgers.

2014 R2&3 - Muddafkkr Makes Move in Tight Trivia Tussle

Up to R3 of the Premiership season already & Vietnamese debutant Muddafkkr (65/80) is leading the trivia comp in a terrific tight tussle, ahead of gonadbreath spleeter and uglybustard by 3. Uglybustards is sending two ASADA reps to 'Nam this Sunday for urine testing.

In other news seven punters used a joker this week with ZenBen putting his jokers to good use and Freo_Dockers not such good use, crafty Cowell kills the card two weeks running and young Bill Griggs hits the podium by a margin point from Amy Jones, level pegging with Rod Carter and stanleymarsh, while we welcome Tweety, yet another tipster who becomes an Ugly Bustard.

2014 R1 - Fake Freo Forgoes Four From Four in Frightful Footytips Fiasco

hi there all you ugly bustards and aint it great to have another footy season underway, albeit one that started in sensationally controversial circumstances and as usual Uglybustards.com has the inside news.

A meltdown of the footytips.com.au site was caused by a hot coffee spilt on the crutch of the webmaster by his nubile assistant on the season opener Friday night and has caused the biggest tipping debacle of the 21st century.

It gives me great pleasure to present this year's winner of the fourteenth Ugly Bustards Footy Tipping Premiership in 2013 with the Ugly Bustards Premiership Cup, the holy grail of footy tipping.

Sam Griggs wins 2013 Ugly Bustards Footy Tipping Premiership

Sam is the 11th winner of the prized cup in fourteen years of Ugly Bustards Footy Tipping. The only punters to have won the treasured prize twice are inaugural winner Arnold Layne and denlash. Previous cup winners' engravings can be viewed on Facebook.

Sam had an exceptional season winning by a record margin of six tips, and finished higher than any other Ugly Bustards tipster in history on the overall footytips.com.au site, with a 27th placing out of nearly half a million tipsters. This eclipsed teenyweenybustard's placing of 121st in 2001.

Runners-up this year were Powerful, Craig Nettlebeck and Amy Jones, view the Hall of Fame for the archive of Ugly Bustards Footy Tipping winners.

AFL Results R21 - Final 8 wide open & Spot Prize #7

Very interesting situation regarding the make-up of the AFL final 8 going into the last 2 rounds of the season with the top teams spluttering and the bottom teams in the 8 hitting form. Hawthorn remain Buddy-less, the Crows have been ordinary losing to Brisbane and just getting over the Bombers, the Pies crashed to Norf, while the mighty Blues put on a clinic, and could do some damage in September if Freo lose to Norf next week.

The Swans are looking good and the Weagles are getting players back at the right time. You can't count out the Cats either who've won 4 of their last 5, the only hiccup the five point loss to the Coolers at Patersons.

Spot Prize #6 finally went off and was won by Sam Griggs. Obviously the question was way too hard so Spot Prize #7 below is a bit simpler so we can offload some inventory before the finals.
