And then there were two. The Swans accounted for the Magpies quite comfortably on the Friday night, with Jetta's running goal putting them up by 20 points in the 1st quarter, there was no looking back. The other preliminary final was a different kettle of fish, with the Crows pushing flag favourite Hawthorn all the way to the very end, and could've been considered unlucky not to pinch it. The Hawks will learn their lesson and I can't see them falling down two weeks in a row, and should comfortably account for the Swans this weekend. There you heard it first - Hawks by 30+. Of course I could be foxing.

Longee continues to celebrate his win in the tipping ladder competition and was reportedly seen in Hindley Street Mall in the wee small hours all last week. Griggsy now has an unassailable lead in second place and takes home $85. Congratulation Griggsy, you couldn't quite defend your title from 2011 but a marvelous effort all the same thanks Richie. Third place is still in the balance, with powerful in front of Uglybustard, but behind on the margin. Ironically this was the same position powerful was in last year except he was leading the comp, and he blew it. He'll be hoping history does not repeat itself.

The margin comp is not over yet. Uglybustard lost some ground to David Feck'Em who climbed into second and needs a 26 point turn around to take the title. Unfortunately for him, Feck'em is not in the prize pool and is playing for glory only. Iain Johnson continued his climb up the ladder into 3rd overall, while Rod Carter went for broke last week tipping a big Hawthorn win that didn't eventuate. He's gone from a possible 1st down to 4th with a week to go.

The jackpot went this week went to Billycat who adds another $5 to his jackpot winnings, bringing him up to $50 for the season. Billycat had a perfect round picking both winners and the exact margin of five points to the Hawks over the Crows.
