Sam Snares Second Title - past winners

The Hawks may have got their 3-peat but it was Sam Griggs who got his 2nd Uglybustards Champeenship on the first Saturday in October. He joins an elite group of Uglybustards dual titleholders that consists of Arnold Layne (2000, 2010), Denis Lashmar (2005, 2008) and Sam (2013, 2015).

Joker Ladder

As Micky Maltshaker would say, the Ox was slow, but on this occasion Sam was not patient, timing his run to perfection to streak past at the end of the roster matches, then consolidate through the finals like a true pro.

The Ox through the baby out with the bathwater late in the day capitulating under intense finals presha to fall back to 5th, as powerful powered through the rankings to climb to second, ahead of the consistent Anthony Aiello in 3rd place and Amy Jones 4th. The Prize Pool for paid-up-punters went to Sam, Powerful and Amy. Congrats to the podium on a great year of tipping. The five point bonus for picking the "full card" was croooshal in the finals series.

Standard Ladder

Sam and the Ox were neck and neck most of the year on the Standard Ladder too, the Ox a point or two in front until running out of puff.  Sam pipped Anthony by a single point with the Ox 3rd. However the Prize for participating punters in this case was awarded to the highest paid-up-tipster who didnt place in the Joker Ladder.  Namely, BecCG in 6th place. Well done Bec.

Margin Comp

The Margin comp had more twists and turns than a beer-logged pretzel with multiple leaders and 5 punters within a goal of each other with just the Grand Final to go. Anthony Aiello completed a sensational year of tipping by taking out 1st place, with John Longmire 4 goals in arrears, just ahead of Craig Nettlebeck. For the first time ever the entire podium were not in the Prize Pool, so the bickies went to 4th placed Powerful who climbed from 16th in one round which shows just how tight it was.

Weekly Prize

Powerful took this out too, missing the margin by just a point to win the last jackpot of 2015, finishing extremely strongly in the finals series on all ladders.
