AFL Results R20 - Cooney Crushes Carlton

Lots of 50/50 games this week which were hard to pick. Poor old Norf cant take a trick losing another close one to the Crows, the Magpies surprised everyone with a convincing win over the Swans, the Bombers look like the year is starting to take its toll as they got smashed by the Ducks, and the Bulldogs crushed an unconvincing Carlton.

Judd caught out
Malted Outhouse can smugly say he is happy with the process, the ladder is irrelevant and that Carlton continue to improve under his tutelage.  But as the gulf between the contenders and the Blues widens, our sources here at Uglybustards have uncovered a potential cause for the Blues downward spiral, and that is their nutritional program!  Full of Mars Bars!

In fact it's not much different from the Blues of the 70s as far as one-dimensional diets go, but instead of Mars Bars envisage cans of VB. How soft has this once great team become?

Not many outstanding highlights this week except to say Adam Cooney is back with a vengeance. If he didn't get the 3 Brownlow votes I'll go he. Freo look set for a top 2 spot as the Swans, Cats and Hawks are yet to play each other, while the Dockers face the behemoths of Melbourne and St Kilda, with Port Adelaide at Patersons. Roll the tape Olympiodorus and read on for the latest in Uglybustards tipping results.

Uglybustards Tipping Comp...

Sam Griggs had an ordinary round by his standards just managing the 5/9 in the Tipping Ladder this week, and although he still leads Uglybustards Tipping by the proverbial mile, he dropped from 128th to 201st in the overall footytips.com.au site ladder. I shouldn't have given him the wrap, as I've now put the moz on him to win the Xbox 360 Kinect.

In the minor placings the battle continues as Billycat is still one point ahead of 3rd placed Arnold Layne while powerful continues motoring up the ladder and is now 4th. Just a few rounds ago he was in the mid-teens. Craig PotCallTheKettleBeck had a maaaagnificent round of 7/9, and climbed 8 rungs from 13th to 5th, level on points with Arnold and powerful. With three crucial rounds to go til the finals, and top teams playing each other, the minor placings are far from settled.

In the Margin comp the Hawks win went to plan and most tipsters were around the eventual 46 point margin. As a result The Lace maintained a 23 point lead over  DrBB, with Glen mcphee a further 10 points behind in 3rd. #Car17on and carnswans swapped places from 7th to 4th and vice-versa while Quokka and Sam Griggs remained tied 2nd and 3rd in the prize pool placings.

More details on the Tipping Ladder page if you scroll down to the Margin ladder.

In the Trivia comp there was no change as Griggsy is too scared to make a move, frozen in the headlights after almost stealing the lead off me last week. Gonadbreath is 3rd and has increased his lead over Rotten Ronnie who may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

With a very tough round the Weekly Prize didn't go off this week and we're starting to accumulate a reasonable amount of $15 for round 21.

Good luck in Round 21, may the tipping Gods go with you.
